From a small local business to a microbrewery known for its exceptional beers, here is everything you need to know about our journey at sea.

Anchored in Sainte-Flavie

The Ketch began its adventure in the heart of winter 2018. Carried by a fresh breeze coming from the coast, our golden ship finally anchored on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Sainte-Flavie. We aspire to be more than a producer of exceptional beers; we always want to be a space where people come together and share precious moments with friends and family.

Our magnificent outdoor terrace offers spectacular views of the River and is the ideal place to enjoy one of our beers while admiring unforgettable sunsets. The Ketch also has a large indoor and outdoor stage, becoming the scene of many lively evenings throughout the year.

The wind in our sails

Since the expansion of our production in 2021, Le Ketch has the wind in its sails more than ever. Thanks to the distribution of our beers, our microbrewery is now recognized nationally and even outside the country, for its juicy and complex IPAs made from local honey.

The crew

Jean-François grew up in Sainte-Flavie and has been socially involved there since adolescence. President, coordinator and co-founder of the Carrefour International bas-Laurentien for social engagement, former federal deputy, mayor of Sainte-Flavie and professor of political science at the Cégep de Rimouski, for Jean-François, Ketch is synonymous with fraternity, commitment and passion.

A trained radio host, Guillaume is a native of Chicoutimi. After a few years of home brewing, he decided to go into beer production full time and turn his passion into a profession. For him, Ketch is the best way to let all his creativity flow freely.

Chloé grew up in the Eastern Townships before adopting Bas-Saint-Laurent in 2002 to study social development at the University of Quebec in Rimouski. Proud wife and mother of Flaviens, she owned a Gîte for over 3 years and manages the Ketch kitchen team and contributes to the daily administration of the business. For Chloé, Ketch is a place to bring together laughter and passion.

Originally from Chandler, Joëlle has been working in the marketing and advertising industry for several years. Combining her creativity and her strategic mind, she is committed to developing the brand as well as the customer experience of Ketch in the image of Gaspésie: colorful and unforgettable.

Iouri Philippe Paillé is passionate about images, travel and food! Working as a director in Quebec and internationally, Iouri travels the world to shoot spectacular images and find inspiration for his various personal projects. For Iouri le Ketch it is the opportunity to create a place that captures the imagination, in the colors of the magnificent region.

Geneviève Fortin is originally from Sainte-Flavie and grew up along the Saint-Laurent River. In addition to being the mother of three children with her husband Junior, she co-owns a home clinic offering massage therapy and osteopathy services. Geneviève cares about the health and well-being of people in the region. For her, Ketch is a way of offering a place of sharing to her community.

Of Haitian origin, Junior is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. In Sainte-Flavie you might come across him at the massage therapy clinic which he co-owns with his wife Geneviève or at an Espoirs de la Mitis match, a soccer league that he founded. For Junior, the Ketch is a place of gathering and good times.

Born in Montreal, Gabriel spent all the summers of his childhood in Sainte-Flavie. Lawyer in private practice and teacher, lover of beers and travel and, above all, proud Gaspésie by adoption, Gabriel was quick to embark on the Ketch project. For him, the Ketch is an opportunity to realize his entrepreneurial spirit, to promote a corner of the country that is dear to him.

Holder of a master's degree in religious sciences, Daniel has been active for several years within international organizations. An avid traveler, but attached to Sainte-Flavie and the memories of summers spent building rafts on the shore, for Daniel, the Ketch is a project bringing together family, the sea and the spirit of celebration.

Élisabeth lives in Montreal, but is particularly attached to Sainte-Flavie. Museologist passionate about history and the arts, she has worked in the cultural field for many years. For her, the Ketch is both a unifying place to taste excellent beer and an exceptional place to consume culture.

A graduate in computer science, Rosa is originally from Mexico and a proud adopted Quebecer. She is a woman with a big heart, simple and passionate about children, animals and aesthetics. Rosa doesn't get seasick, for her, Ketch is family adventure, the warmth of kitchens and the pleasure of intense work!

Étienne has solid experience in business management, events and projects in the hotel, resort and restaurant sectors.
